Introducing Our Latest Fire Safety Solution: Window Profile with Automatic Smoke Ventilation

We now manufacture the latest technology window frame solution which automatically opens to expel smoke in the event of a fire.

The new system works by connecting an actuator to the window’s frame so that the window opens in the presence of smoke.

All multiple occupancy buildings above three stories must have automated environmental and smoke ventilation capabilities to comply with the strict fire safety rules in part B of Building Regulations 2010.

Building Regulations Update

The Future Homes Standard (FHS) is part of the Government’s ambitions to be Net Zero by 2050 and requires the introduction of world-leading levels of energy efficiency and will be fully introduced by 2025.

The document proposes changes to Part L (conservation of fuel and power) and Part F (ventilation). It introduces Part O, a new requirement to tackle the risk of overheating in new residential buildings.

Many criteria of the regulations apply to not only new buildings, but also replacement windows and doors in existing buildings.

The installation of our new solar panels has begun!

From now on, 78 solar panels will contribute to our aims in becoming carbon neutral.

By changing all lights to LEDs, upgrading machinery in the factory, and changing shift times, we’ve already cut our carbon emissions by 20%. Now, with the panels, we will be able to reduce our consumption by another 30%, halving our carbon emissions compared to previous years. We also ensure that the rest of our energy is powered from 100% renewable energy sources.

Final Goodbye to Kay Close!

Big day today as we finally say goodbye to Kay Close, Plympton and move the last few items into our new home in Estover!

It has been a long seven weeks from start to finish, moving all the machinery, stock and offices as well as renovating both the old and new premises!

A huge thanks to the great Right Price team who made this possible, and we are looking forward to a bright future with more space for the business to grow.

Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II
